ABOUT Beginner dSLR Course
Have the gear but not the knowhow? Want to know how to control your camera and take great pictures?This workshop will show you how to use the main controls of your camera, and how to create the pictures that you want to take. It is suitable if you have a dSLR, micro four thirds, bridge, or any other advanced compact camera with settings for aperture and shutter speed.
The workshop is run by a professional photographer, with a BA in Photography from the University of Brighton, who has teaching experience and a wealth of knowledge on all things related to cameras and photography.
You will learn through demonstration, and by your own practice, what each of the main settings on your camera does, how it affects the picture, and you will also learn techniques for composing and creating better photographs.
There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and to explore the functions and settings of your camera.
Following the workshop you will understand the following:
- What each of the main settings on your camera does
- Basic photographic and camera principles including shutter speed, aperture, exposure, ISO and noise
- Use of different shooting modes (e.g. shutter & aperture priority, plus manual mode)
- How to freeze or blur motion
- How to blur the background
- How to compose good photos and how to take better pictures
- Effect of different lenses and focal lengths
